• How is it June already ?!!! Aistear, School Tour and more…

Can you believe we are into the last two weeks of Junior infants?
These children have learned so much this year and have become so independent, and are ready for senior infants .
So far we have had a very busy month. Our new theme in Aistear is ‘The Airport’. The children decided to have three different areas in the role play area, a travel agents, the airport and their destination. The children also decided to bring some chairs over to the airport area to pretend its was a plane! We even had air traffic controllers!! This was so much fun. For small world we designed small airports for our toy planes to land in . And the sensory area played with sand and water just like on the beach!!

We were reading about Rainbow fish so we made a beautiful rainbow fish using re purposed coloured paper. It was also our turn to decorate the Cróí na Scoile display board in the hall ,so we continued to recycle plastic and made a display about keeping our waters plastic free.

Did you hear what we got up to on our school tour? We went on the bus all the way to Sandyford in Dublin to Imaginosity. It was so much fun. It was spread out over three floors and we got to spend time on each floor, before having lunch . There was a real Audi A1 which everyone loved, a shop, a post office, a dress up area, a cafe, a news station, a doctor’s office and loads of fun science activities.

We have finished our first term of swimming! Everyone did brilliantly! It would be great if you could go swimming over the Summer so your child can show you all they have learned. We also had our sports day , our favourite part was definitely the spud and spoon race!! It was trickier than we thought.

We had such fun on multicultural night, there were loads of different types of food to try, and not to mention treats!! We coloured this picture to show that we accept and love people from all around the  world.

And our friend Miggle D Giggles met a new friend in the park in Newbridge for June Fest.. Michael Tree Higgins!!!

It has been my absolute pleasure teaching this Junior Infants! Wishing you all an amazing summer full of play, wonder, learning, exploring and fun!
