2nd Class are really enjoying getting to grips with money. We have our very own shop set up now. The shopkeeper is responsible for making sure they are given the correct amount and also for providing the correct change. It is great fun.

2nd Class made salt dough Christmas ornaments. The children decorated the baked dough with acrylic paint, gems and lots of glitter! We hope you like them as much as we do.
We have enjoyed using dice during Maths lessons recently!
Our projects about the Irish counties were amazing and we really enjoyed teaching the other 2nd Class about Connaught and Leinster. They visited us to tell us all about Ulster and Munster. It was very interesting.
Grandparent’s Day was a huge hit in 2nd Class. The children had great fun talking with and learning from their relatives. Thanks to all our visitors who made the effort to come in and see us we really appreciate it!
We had a super October so far. We visited the playground after earning 50 maith thú cards. We had a very interesting science talk all about Saturn and we completed lots of spooky Halloween art too.
We absolutely love reading. In school, we participate in Power Hour each day. We also are reading lots of novels such as Flat Stanley and The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. Every Thursday we visit our fantastic school library. Here we are reading happily.
We are having a wonderful start to the school year in 2nd class. We have created tie dye butterflies, done many science experiments, learned about famous poets, started our power hour and participated in lots of exercise! We have been very busy here are some photos of our year so far.
2nd Class had great fun learning about self portraits. We thought that Van Gogh’s one was spectacular but weren’t such fans of Picasso’s take on his self portrait! Here we are painting our own ones.They turned out so well.
